Bashkortostan is a region full of natural beauty that cares for its heritage while also investing in technology.

For the Republic of Bashkortostan’s pavilion at SPIEF 2О23, we created a digital forest — a visual installation showing the harmony between nature and technology.

The idea is based on a real technology from the region — LiDAR systems. These devices scan the land from the air and create very accurate digital maps.

This inspired the concept of a digital forest clearing — a 3D part of a forest that looks almost real. The trees slowly appear and load, as if being scanned by LiDAR in real time.

The video was shown on three large facade screens, covering 16О square meters, combined into one forest image. The content was made using generative design.

The changing forest became the pavilion’s main visual element, reflecting the beauty of the local landscape and the Republic’s focus on technology.
